Baby Shower Fun

Today I had yet another baby shower order. The theme colors were brown, white, and teal. They were fun to make but 70 cake pops were requested. Half of it were chocolate and half was vanilla... I loved how it turned out and the display as well... its soo cute!
Didnt have much time left over to take pics... but this was the best i did =)

DJ Turntable

This weekend was filled with orders.. I had a cake order for a DJ's surprise party. They asked for a DJ Turntable cake and this is what I came up with. The cakes were Red Velvet with cream cheese filling, Chocolate with butter cream, and vanilla with strawberries and cream filling! Birthday boy was surprised and he loved the cake!

Baby Shower Crazy

This month has been craziness for baby showers. Spring is in the air and it seems like everyone I know is having a baby. I just made these pink and yellow themed baby shower cupcakes and cake pops! Aren't they adorable?!
The Cupcake toppers were baby carriages and bibs that were handmade in fondant. They took a little time but it was all worth it!

Next best thing...

Ahhh Cake pops! They are the cutest little things that are also very delish! I love making them and giving them out to friends. Also seeing their faces light up! I just love it! They just put a smile on everyones faces! My new obsession! =)))

First Cake

It was my cousin's son's 1st birthday and I offered to make a cake! The theme was jungle/safari. So i came up with this! I did some research online on how to make the animals and it was a fun project. They are made out of fondant. I love them they are soo cute. Made them a week in advance so they can harden because I was traveling 3 1/2 hours away and i didnt want them to break or fall apart.
I also made a palm tree but it broke =(
I didnt have any letter cutters so i had to freehand it. They look sort of messy but its okay! I still love the cake and i think it looks pretty good for the first successes-full cake! I hope you all liked it as much as i did! Leave a comment and let know what you think!

Hello Kitty much?

Anyone who knows me knows i'm obsessed with hello kitty! I mean I even have a tattoo of her! But this cake wasn't for me... it was for my sister! She loves hello kitty as well! This cake was a strawberry cake filled with fresh fruits and covered with whipped cream! It was yummy-licious! The accents on the cake were made out of fondant. I didn't want to purchase the Hello Kitty shaped cake pan so i decided to test my skills and carve the cake.. I think it came out pretty decent! I hope you like it as much as i do!
My sister also loves zebra prints! So I made red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and topped with zebra print designed fondant with a pretty pink bow that matches Hello Kitty's bow.

Twilight Themed Cake and Cupcakes

A cake and cupcake for a girl who is in LOOVVEE with twilight! She even knows the lines to the movies. I'm also obssesed with the books so i was super excited to make this one! Cupcake toppers were made out of fondant and was placed on top of vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting! =)
A 2 tiered cake and toppers to represent each book cover.

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea???

SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS!

I loved this cake and cupcakes! I had an order for 50 cupcakes and a small personal cake. I had a co-worker help me make the cupcake stand! Awesome right?! The cake on top was a 6in cake and the pineapple house was carved and shaped rice crispy treats!
This one was a tough cookie! They wanted a 3D character for each cupcake. So i had to make 50+ characters! Very time consuming and tedious! Oh also i'm a perfectionist when it comes to cake making... It has to be perfect. Each character was made out of fondant except for some of the crabby patties. This was one of my favorite creations!

Spring Time Is Here

Oh how I love spring! All of the bright colors, flowers blooming, birds chirping and great get together outdoors with friends and family. This pass weekend a co-worker/friend of mine celebrated her daughters first birthday! Ahh how I love birthdays! And of course, I made a cake and cake pops with the great theme of spring! Hope you guys like it!
The Cake is a french vanilla cake with buttercream and covered in fondant. The cake pops were chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting covered in candy chocolate. Yumm!

Hello Kitty anyone?

I was soo excited when i first found out about cake pops! They are soooo darn cute! I just couldn't help but make them! Especially when i saw Bakerella's Hello Kitty Cake pops! All i thought was OMG! OMG! So heres my version of it.. Hope you like! Enjoy!

I wasn't able to find the jumbo heart shaped sprinkles so i made the bow out of fondant. Also, I bought Wilton's edible pens for the eyes and wiskers.. and well those did not come out too great let me tell ya. Instead i used Gel food coloring. I found Americolor's edible pens, and I am waiting to try those out this weekend when i make some HK pops for a co-workers b-day. The nose is also Wilton's edible pens.
